CBS Predictions: Battle Creek Cancelled; CSI: Cyber and The Odd Couple Renewed

Battle Creek
CSI: Cyber and Battle Creek premiered this week on CBS. CSI: Cyber, the fourth offshoot in the Crime Scene Investigation franchise, has landed squarely at the average for CBS dramas. Even without that, the show has already been sold internationally to a whopping 200 territories, meaning that a renewal already seems imminent. The show will start out as a Likely Renewal, and unless something very unexpected happens, it will be a Certain Renewal soon.
Battle Creek is a whole other story. It has landed itself at the very bottom of the pile; it is already CBS’ lowest rating drama. And since new series tend to show a significant drop in their second episode, things are likely to get worse for Battle Creek. At this rate, it is a realistic option that the show will be pulled off the air after a few more episodes, which would make it the first failed new drama of the season for CBS (Stalker has also failed, but CBS has not yet acknowledged that fact). Unsurprisingly, Battle Creek is a Certain Cancellation.
The Odd Couple has managed to rebound in its third week after dropping in its second. Given that the show is currently CBS’ highest rating comedy after The Big Bang Theory and that it seems to have stabilized in the ratings, we will upgrade it to a Likely Renewal. Unless it starts dropping again, The Odd Couple will soon earn itself another promotion to the Certain Renewal status.
