CBS Predictions: Mom and 2 Broke Girls Renewed

With Angel From Hell brutally cancelled and Mike & Molly ending this season, CBS has only four comedies left. The Big Bang Theory has already been renewed through the 2016-17 season in March 2014. Life In Pieces has the lead-in from the aforementioned, and is therefore CBS’ second-highest rating comedy, and was upgraded to a Certain Renewal two weeks ago.

That leaves two CBS comedies: Mom and 2 Broke Girls. Both have been garnering roughly the same ratings. Mom is in a very comfortable position since it is currently in its third full season, and syndication economics demand a fourth. Nevertheless, we have had it at a Likely Renewal so far, since it is owned by an outside studio. Given its current ratings, both studio (Warner Brothers) and network (CBS) will be leaning towards a renewal. Mom is a Certain Renewal.

As said, 2 Broke Girls is also very steady in the ratings, and it is currently in its fifth full season. Similarly to Mom, it is produced by Warner Brothers, who will want to keep it going for the syndication dollars. With the current ratings, and incentives from Warner Brothers, CBS will have no problem agreeing with that stance. 2 Broke Girls is also a Certain Renewal.
