Fresh Off The Boat, last season’s surprising midseason hit comedy, has received an order for 9 more episodes in its second season. Initially, the show was renewed for a 13-episode second season, matching the count of its first. Thus, with this back order, the sophomore season will now consist of the full 22 episodes.
Fresh Off The Boat tells the story of the young Eddie Huang (portrayed by Hudson Yang) who moves to Orlando with his family, where his dad (Randall Park) is opening a restaurant. The show also stars Constance Wu as Huang’s mother.
Not only did Fresh Off The Boat‘s second season deliver solid ratings so far, the show is also part of ABC’s move towards diversification with an all Asian-American main cast. Among the other shows that are part of this move are Black-ish and How To Get Away With Murder.
