After airing only two episodes, and only one in its regular Sundays at 8/7c timeslot, NBC has renewed its new reality series Little Big Shots for a second season. The show, hosted by Steve Harvey and produced by Ellen DeGeneres, features talented children showing off their singing, dancing, or other special skills.
A special preview of Little Big Shots that aired on March 8th scored an eye-popping 2.9 in the all-important Adults 18-49 demographic, and got a total of 12.8 million viewers. This Sunday’s regular timeslot premiere scored a maybe even more impressive 2.8 in the demographic and a total of 15 million viewers, while leading out of a repeat of the March 8 episode, which only got a 1.2 in the demo and 7.6 million viewers.
Ratings like these are quite unique for new (or any) shows these days, so this move by NBC is not surprising at all.
