Other recent Renewals and Cancellations on CBS and The CW:
- CBS Recap: Limitless still in limbo, the CSI-era has come to an end, Code Black was renewed, and more (May 22nd)
- The CW Recap: iZombie and Crazy Ex-girlfriend renewed, alongside all other shows (May 22nd)
CBS’ superhero series has been renewed for a second season. The big catch, though, is that the show will move to The CW, bringing that network’s number of DC Comics series to four.
After a previous crossover with The Flash, Supergirl‘s move to The CW looks like a seamless fit. What is less fitting is the budget of the series, though, coming in as the most expensive new series of the 2015-16 season. Therefore, production will move from Los Angeles to Vancouver, joining the other three Greg Berlanti The CW DC Comics superhero series, and other budget cuts will be made as well.
It will be interesting to see whether the show’s ratings level will also carry over to The CW. The CW is 50% owned by CBS Corporation.
