Life In Pieces revolves around the Short family; patriarch and matriarch John (James Brolin, Marcus Welby, M.D.) and Joan (Dianne Wiest, Law & Order), and their grown-up children Heather (Betsy Brandt, Breaking Bad), Matt (Thomas Sadoski, The Newsroom) and Greg (Colin Hanks, Fargo). The series follows each of the Short family members, who are in various stages of their lives.
