CBS Predictions: CSI: Cyber will be cancelled; Limitless in danger

Other recent Renewals and Cancellations on CBS:

CSI: Cyber

It seems that the CSI era is really over for CBS, as the only remaining member of the franchise, sophomore series CSI: Cyber, has gone fractional in the ratings this week. Even though the show still has 20 more episodes to go this season, we feel comfortable listing it as a Likely Cancellation from now on.

Limitless is in quite a slump, losing half a ratings point in the all-important demographic in two weeks time. We will hold off for one more week, but if it still hasn’t stabilized by then, Limitless will be downgraded to a Toss Up.

2 Broke Girls will return sooner than anticipated, in favor of new Jane Lynch comedy Angel From Hell. Predicting what that means for the renewal chances of either show is like reading tea leaves, because in the end it is all about the ratings (and syndication, streaming deals, etc.).

Oh, and for the Person Of Interest fans out there (count me in), Michael Emerson has reportedly confirmed that the show’s upcoming fifth season will be the last one (on CBS anyway).

This week's TV Watch U.S. predictions for the other networks:

CBS really mucked it up big time! TPTB should have retooled and revamped CSI LV. Instead, they turfed the series out without giving it a final season. A mere two-part was not enough to wrap this once mighty show up. Oh, instead they kept the stinker, Cyber. Now Cyber is facing its possible cancellation! Never thought it could survive its first season actually. How can they expect the viewers would follow this poorly scripted show? Please, let it go.

I guess they picked Cyber over a final season for the mothership because they hoped that Cyber could be sustained for several more seasons. But they forgot the simple fact that Cyber is a terrible show..!

Well, I am writing this reply just as an ordinary viewer. After a long day at work, after the house chores are done, when I sit down to have a cup of tea and watch some TV shows just to unwind, I’d want to watch some well thought-out, well-written shows carried out by engaging castings to portray some inspiring characters. IMHO, Cyber failed in all accounts. It just doesn’t grab and hold my interest. It simply doesn’t work for me. When the networks are going to learn that if they want to survive, they simply need to realize we, the viewers, are no brainless zombies. We do can tell a good show from a bad one. They can’t go on insulting viewers intellectually. Is it too much to ask for a program to be entertaining as well as informative?
